Our Approach
We have a variety of relationships with our affiliated songwriters, most of whom are also active performers. With established writer-performers, we initially prefer to develop an administration agreement. Because publishing or co-publishing are very long-term arrangements for us as well as the artist, we generally limit our publishing agreements to artists who we've proven able to promote successfully. We do consider work by new or relatively untested writers if we believe that it is or has potential to be among the best, and if they also show genuine commitment to their own professional development as writers and performers. Writers with limited track records should always query the company first to determine whether we are actively representing your kind of music. Queries should be sent by e-mail to info@runningboardmusic.com, and should include both a brief professional bio and a description of your music. Please do not send audio files or lyric sheets unless requested. Because songwriter development and music promotion and administration require considerable investments of time and money, we are necessarily very selective in choosing the work that we represent.
